Dear Parents,

Welcome to Lorna Whiston Study Centres. Here is a short note to introduce myself to you and your child.

My name is Aletia Giliomee and I have spent my life interacting with and learning about different cultures. I am very excited to
become a part of your childrens lives, to teach them, and to help them reach their full potential.

I was born in Germany and from there on have lived in various countries including Belgium, South Africa, Singapore and South
Korea. During my high school career in Belgium, my love for working with children was born, and I found myself volunteering my free time to help out whenever could at the Early Childhood Center. I progressed to undergraduate and post-graduate studies at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. After obtaining my degree in Humanities, I completed my Honors in Sociology focusing on the resources available to Kindergartens throughout the Western Cape. Additionally, I have a Certificate in Early Childhood Education and am currently pursuing an Early Childhood Teaching Degree. I have also spent a lot of time doing outreach projects for the underprivileged in Europe, South Africa and South Korea, as I feel compelled, and privileged to be able to help.

Currently I am teaching in Korea for my third year running. I have worked with all ages and the last 2 years I have been teaching
children between the ages of 2 and 8 years of age. I find teaching immensely satisfying and enjoyable, and look forward to being a
key player in the successful education of your young children, and to helping them prepare for the challenges that our modern day
globalized world presents.

The aim in my classes is to create an environment where children feel safe and comfortable enough to express themselves in English with confidence. I will strive to make the classes interesting, fun and interactive, while maintaining a challenging and constructive learning environment. Through the use of various techniques, media and books, I will help your children develop their English Language skills to the best of my ability.

I find the teachers at Lorna Whiston to be extremely supportive to both the students and parents. There is also a high level of
professional support. For that, I am pleased to be at Lorna Whiston Schools and am delighted to be teaching your child this year.

I will make myself available in any way possible to both you and your child to make sure that they are receiving the best educational experience possible here. I consider it a great privilege and responsibility to be your child's teacher, and look forward to meeting each of you.

Please feel free to call me at the United Square Level 4 branch on 6251 7662 on the following days and times should you wish to
