I started my career as a teacher of modern languages in the UK, then moved to Singapore in 1989. Since then, I have accumulated more than 25 years of experience working in different roles in the education industry.

Specific to my work at Lorna Whiston, I worked closely with the company's founder to scale up the business from a small, homegrown tuition centre to an internationally recognized brand. On the education side, I have worked extensively as a teacher, teacher trainer, trainer trainer and curriculum developer.

This distinctive blend of commercial and educational experience and expertise has, I believe, allowed me to understand what truly matters when it comes to running a successful education business like Lorna Whiston.

Firstly, when it comes to education, quality is king, and our insistence on quality staff, products and services is, I believe, what has seen the Lorna Whiston brand endure for over 35 years.

Secondly, engagement is key. When we engage with our students, they become motivated and learn better. When we engage with our customers, we come to understand their needs better. And when we engage with our staff, they feel valued and they perform better.

Like many educators, I entered the teaching profession because I wanted a career that would be meaningful, and that would help make a difference to peoples' lives. I feel very honored to be leading a company that transforms lives through learning.
