Lori Bormann
Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, Specialisation in Reading
University of Iowa, USA
I am the Head Teacher at Lorna Whiston schools, heading the Level 4 United Square Early Years branch and Parkway Parade. I joined Lorna Whiston Schools in 2005 and have worked at all the branches.

I have come to Singapore from the farmlands of Iowa in America, where I graduated from the University of Iowa in 1994 with a Bachelor of Education degree and an endorsement in reading. After graduating, I taught in a number of rural and city schools ranging from kindergarten to secondary for five years.

I have been living in Singapore for the past 12 years and have been enjoying every minute. Singapore is now called home for me. Whilst in Singapore I have taught at both a language school and international schools and am immensely enjoying teaching at Lorna Whiston Study Centres for the past 7 years. Here teaching is extremely rewarding, where the children are extremely enthusiastic and are a delight to teach.

My hobbies include swimming, walking, reading, cross-stitching, travelling and cooking, and I enjoy eating the wonderful food found here in Singapore. Shockingly, Durian and Laksa are my favourite. In my free time I enjoy playing with and walking in the Botanical Gardens with my adorable Maltese dog, Keisha, and being entertained by my two loving stray cats, Neko and Nicole. Catching up with friends over a cup of coffee is my idea of relaxation from the hustle and bustle of Singapore!
