Maureen Donelly
Bachelor of Special Education
Monash University, Australia
I started my working career in Australia as a primary school teacher. I have twenty-one years' classroom experience - 14 of these with primary school-age children. I gained a Bachelor of Special Education in 1978 and also qualified as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher in 1993. After studying at Monash University and obtaining a second degree, I then went on to teach English at Monash and RMIT universities language centres.

My interests include travel, culture and the arts, as well as windsurfing and cable-skiing at East Coast Park. I love living and teaching in Singapore; I came here in 2001 and have shown no signs yet of wanting to leave!

It has been particularly delightful to see the students I have taught grow and develop, increasing in confidence and the ability to express themselves. I enjoy seeing the friendly faces of parents and students I have known over time, too.

I trust that as a native speaker of English, I am giving something back to the country that has made me so welcome.
