Speech & Drama and Outreach
Gold Distinction in the Speaking of Verse/Prose/Recital/Choral from LAMDA (UK)
I was born in a small rural part of Ireland called Athlone in County Westmeath, where those wonderfully mystical leprechauns still live. I moved to Singapore over 16 years ago and have held PR status for the past 14 years. I regard Singapore as home from home and I'm affectionately considered by my Singaporean friends as Sing Moh, not Ang Moh! It is a great compliment - knowing I am accepted and made so welcome in this great city.

Early in my career, I gained gold and honours with distinctions in Speech and Drama related exams from The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. On arrival in Singapore, I quickly gained approval from the Ministry of Education to teach within Singapore schools. I have first-hand knowledge of the education systems and structures in place, having taught in numerous schools primary, secondary and JC's island wide and am familiar with the STELLAR programme.

I have delivered numerous teacher training workshops in Speech & Drama Techniques and Debate Skills to the wonderful, dedicated and hard-working MOE teachers who have attended my sessions.

I have also been involved in judging various public speaking competitions such as the East Zone Public Speaking and Dramatic Interpretation Competition at Tanjong Katong Girls School and St Joseph Institute Juniors Language Night, alongside heading the project The Junior Ambassadors Presentation: Bringing Literature to Life (National Library Board) and preparing students for the event.

I have been a Trinity College London Communication Skills Trainer and Co-ordinator for many years and have introduced this programme to Lorna Whiston Schools, and local schools, with enormous success. I helped guide the top scoring PSLE student in her oral examination component for 2013 and received an unexpected and heart-warming call from her parents thanking me personally for my work.

In addition to the above, I have done a variety voice-over work, which I really enjoy. Some of my clients in Singapore include BBC Entertainment, Singapore Tourism Board and Caldecott Productions (International). I have voiced many documentaries and I even did a short stint on local radio, which was terrifying as it was live! Even teachers get nervous!
