Build a strong academic foundation for your child, equipping them with strategies for better learning while instilling soft skills and values crucial for success. Our teaching method focuses on:
Lorna Whiston Schools adheres closely to the Ministry of Education English Language Learning Outcomes and delivers engaging lessons based on a theme. Our teachers undergo regular training to deepen our understanding of the English Language syllabus prescribed by the Ministry of Education and to be exposed to new pedagogical approaches. From Primary 1- 6, we do student assessments once a term to gauge learning progress.
Little Explorers
(18 months - 3 years old)
Our Little Explorer programme encourages children to learn through multi-sensory learning centres. These centres help children make sense of the world around them, developing their cognitive skills, their social skills and their ability to communicate and express themselves verbally in English.
Through one-on-one interaction with our early years teacher and collaborative play, our youngest learners develop a love for English and the ability to communicate and socialise with others.
We spark curiosity in our interactive programme! Engaging stories, songs, and hands-on activities foster fine motor skills, pencil grip, and a love of reading.
Language building — vocabulary, speaking in sentences, awareness of others
Listening and Communication skills — speaking in complete sentences
Letter recognition and initial sounds (phonics)
Fine Motor Skill Development — circles, zig zags, following lines, tracing
Developing reading and writing skills through engaging stories, our programme covers phonics, writing basics, spelling patterns, and verb tenses, fostering a lifelong love of reading.
