English Explorers
(3-8 years old)
Our English Enrichment and Speech and Drama team of experts have designed programmes to spark children’s natural curiosities for learning, exciting their imagination, nurturing their creativity, and developing their confidence and communication skills. These programmes target the age groups of 3-5 and 6-8 year olds. The camps include not only reading and writing activities, but also Speech and Drama and art, that are related to the theme of the week.
In our Actors’ Studio holiday camps, children collaborate to rehearse scripts of fun and innovative tales, undertake different roles in a play and stage a stunning performance under the guidance of our Lorna Whiston teachers. Our camps all have a unique theme. The stories that the children have to act out, are well-known tales, but with a surprising twist! This makes it even more fun and engaging for the participants. These programmes target the age groups of 4-5, 6-8 and 9-12 year olds.
Our Creative Writing holiday camp will allow children to unleash their creative minds as they use language to explore the world of stories. Your child will learn about different genres, develop world knowledge, build vocabulary and create imaginative content. Through a mix of dynamic activities, children will nurture their language skills. This camp will also enhance their social skills, as they collaborate with others and share their knowledge and skills.
To be able to read English well and have strong communciation skills, it is crucial to master the sounds of English letters and understand how they work together. In our Phonics Alive camps, students will learn to differentiate between sounds and connect sounds together through phonics. This will ensure that your child builds a solid foundation that benefits them in the following ways:
Learn the correct pronunciation of letters
Understand how letter sounds are joined together
Learn how to read words by breaking them down into sounds
