Gone are the days of students only being required to make class presentations; now more than ever, students are tasked with delivering public speeches and school events and seminars.
At Lorna Whiston, we provide a positive, non-threatening environment that instils confidence in our students’ ability to speak publicly, as well as nurturing the skills required to deliver polished presentations.
In Confident Communicators, students learn to speak with expression and purpose, and how to effectively communicate their message to their audience. Our Confident Communicators course prides itself on having a global focus, using current events and issues as the basis for each student’s presentations.
For our Secondary students, Confident Communicators builds on the foundation set in our Primary course, though new students are always able to join.
As they are older, our Secondary students are expected to construct more detailed presentations for increasingly specific mock audiences, as well as tackle more elaborate problems and conflicts in groups and individually. At the end of the course, students are offered the option of taking a Trinity College London Communications Exam.
